As a rough equivalence, a DET 120 corresponds to approximately IELTS 6.5-7.0 — but always check the official concordance tables, which are updated periodically.
Who accepts the DET?

How to prepare effectively
- Master every question type first. The test’s speed punishes unfamiliarity more than weak English does.
- Train with realistic materials that match the test’s difficulty and pace.
- Get human feedback on speaking and writing — these are where most students silently lose points.
- Run at least one full simulation under real test conditions (camera on, quiet room, no pauses) before your official attempt.
- Target 5-10 points above your requirement to absorb test-day variance.
