Duolingo English Test no longer available in Iran or to holders of Iranian IDs
Duolingo’s help centre now states the test is unavailable in Iran and for users with Iranian IDs, following the suspension of the US general licence that had allowed it. Students with a second nationality should ask Duolingo support in writing before booking. Source
University of Minnesota raises its Duolingo minimum to 120 from Fall 2027
Twin Cities admissions publishes 120 overall with a 120 writing subscore for direct admission; some colleges may admit 105–115 with an English requirement. Check the college-level rule for your programme. Source
Indonesia's LPDP scholarship now accepts the Duolingo English Test
LPDP added the DET to its accepted English tests: 95 for the affirmative track, 105/110 for domestic master’s and doctoral, and 120/130 for overseas master’s and doctoral programmes. Source
University of Oklahoma Graduate College accepts the DET from Summer 2026 entry
The Graduate College requires a 130 composite with at least 115 in each subsection and looks for consistency across subsections. Source
University of Saskatchewan: 120 overall with 100 in each area from 1 January 2026
The new standard applies to all DET results submitted for admission; results remain valid for two years from the test date. Source
Flinders University stops accepting the DET for health courses from 2026
Nursing, medicine, midwifery, occupational therapy, optometry, physiotherapy, paramedicine and psychology now require another accepted test; other courses keep the published DET bands. Source
Canada ends the Student Direct Stream; the regular study-permit route applies
IRCC discontinued SDS in November 2024. English evidence is now whatever the designated learning institution accepts for its Letter of Acceptance, so DET-accepting universities remain a valid route; confirm with IRCC guidance or a licensed consultant. Source
