This is the hub page for Teachero’s Duolingo English Test (DET) course for students in Latin America. Students from Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Peru use the DET mainly for US and Canadian admissions, where it is accepted almost everywhere, and increasingly for Europe. Classes are taught in English, which also doubles as immersion for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking students who rarely get to speak English daily.
Teachero is an online academy based in Egypt that prepares students anywhere in the world for the DET. Every session is live, taught in English by highly qualified, certified instructors, and every lecture is uploaded the same day as a recording. Your Speaking and Writing answers are corrected personally, you sit a full mock test before your exam date, and you can ask questions on WhatsApp between sessions.
Three formats: the standard course (more days, fewer hours per day), the intensive course (fewer days, more hours per day, for a close exam date) and the private 1-on-1 course built around your level, target and time zone.

Why students in Latin America choose the DET
Students from Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Peru use the DET mainly for US and Canadian admissions, where it is accepted almost everywhere, and increasingly for Europe. Classes are taught in English, which also doubles as immersion for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking students who rarely get to speak English daily.
Visa and Mastercard from Latin American banks work for payment; if your bank blocks the charge as a foreign transaction, approve it in the app and retry.
Live classes from your time zone
Cairo is six to nine hours ahead of Latin America, so a Cairo evening class is early afternoon in São Paulo, Bogotá, Lima or Mexico City — a comfortable slot for most students. Nothing is lost by watching a recording: the homework, the personal correction and the WhatsApp support are the same for everyone.
Your country guide
Each country page covers which universities accept the DET from your country, the scores they publish, visa-route notes and how to pay from your bank:
Use the university score finder to look up any university’s Duolingo requirement, and the target-score quiz if you are not sure what to aim for.
Choosing your target score
Universities set two numbers: an overall score and a minimum for one or more subscores. Most undergraduate programmes publish 95–105, most large universities 110–120, and competitive programmes more. Find your programme’s exact number before you book the test, then aim a little above it so one weak subscore cannot cost you the offer. In the first session we measure where you are with a mock test and build the plan on the gap.
How to start
Message us on WhatsApp with your country, the university and programme, the score they ask for and your exam date if you have one. We will recommend the right format and the nearest round, and once you pay by card you receive the platform link and class details on WhatsApp.
Frequently asked questions
Can I join from Latin America?
Yes. The course is fully online, classes are recorded the same day, and you pay by Visa or Mastercard from any country.
Are classes in English?
Yes, fully in English, by certified instructors who specialise in international English exams. Arabic-language support is available for Arabic speakers, but it is not needed.
What if the live time is impossible in my time zone?
Watch the same-day recording, do the homework and send your Speaking and Writing for personal correction. If you want live sessions in your own hours, choose the private 1-on-1 course.
Is the Duolingo English Test accepted where I am applying?
It is accepted by more than 6,000 institutions, including most universities in the US, Canada, the UK, Spain, Germany and other European countries. Check your programme’s page or our score finder, and check your visa route separately.
How do I pay from my country?
Visa or Mastercard from any bank. If a first international charge is blocked, approve it in your banking app and retry, or message us.
