This is the hub page for Teachero’s Duolingo English Test (DET) course for students in East & South-East Asia. The DET is widely accepted by the universities students from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines apply to, and it is often the quickest test to arrange when application deadlines are close. Speaking and Writing are where most students in the region lose points, and those are exactly the parts we correct personally.
Teachero is an online academy based in Egypt that prepares students anywhere in the world for the DET. Every session is live, taught in English by highly qualified, certified instructors, and every lecture is uploaded the same day as a recording. Your Speaking and Writing answers are corrected personally, you sit a full mock test before your exam date, and you can ask questions on WhatsApp between sessions.
Three formats: the standard course (more days, fewer hours per day), the intensive course (fewer days, more hours per day, for a close exam date) and the private 1-on-1 course built around your level, target and time zone.

Why students in East & South-East Asia choose the DET
The DET is widely accepted by the universities students from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines apply to, and it is often the quickest test to arrange when application deadlines are close. Speaking and Writing are where most students in the region lose points, and those are exactly the parts we correct personally.
Some scholarship bodies in the region (LPDP in Indonesia, for example) now accept the DET; check your scholarship’s current list before you book.
Live classes from your time zone
Cairo is five to seven hours behind East and South-East Asia, so an evening class in Cairo is after midnight in Tokyo, Seoul or Manila. Many students in the region study mainly from the same-day recordings and use the live WhatsApp support for questions; the private 1-on-1 course can be scheduled in your own time zone. Nothing is lost by watching a recording: the homework, the personal correction and the WhatsApp support are the same for everyone.
Your country guide
Each country page covers which universities accept the DET from your country, the scores they publish, visa-route notes and how to pay from your bank:
- China
- Japan
- South Korea
- Vietnam
- Thailand
- Indonesia
- Philippines
- Malaysia
- Singapore
- Hong Kong
- Taiwan
- Cambodia
- Myanmar
Use the university score finder to look up any university’s Duolingo requirement, and the target-score quiz if you are not sure what to aim for.
Choosing your target score
Universities set two numbers: an overall score and a minimum for one or more subscores. Most undergraduate programmes publish 95–105, most large universities 110–120, and competitive programmes more. Find your programme’s exact number before you book the test, then aim a little above it so one weak subscore cannot cost you the offer. In the first session we measure where you are with a mock test and build the plan on the gap.
How to start
Message us on WhatsApp with your country, the university and programme, the score they ask for and your exam date if you have one. We will recommend the right format and the nearest round, and once you pay by card you receive the platform link and class details on WhatsApp.
